前面用介詞in或者on，例如：
1、The boys carved their names in the tree.男孩子們把名字刻在樹上。
2、The woodpecker pecked a hole in the tree.啄木鳥在樹上啄了一個洞。
3、We followed the marks he had made on the tree trunks.我們按他在樹幹上做的記號往前走。
in the tree 在樹上，表示落在樹上，如：A bird is singing in the tree.
on the tree 在樹上，表示樹上生長的，如：The apples on the tree are very big.
