區別就是兩者意思上大致是一樣的兩個動詞+介詞短語，可care for意思更廣。
care for中文意思是，關心，照顧喜歡
look after中文意思是照顧關心目送
I had a strong desire to help and care for people.我有一股強烈的幫助和關心別人的願望。
The hospice provides care for the terminally ill.救濟院爲身患絕症的人們提供護理。
look after就是行爲上比較具體的照顧
比如:The mother is looking after her sicky son.
就不能翻譯成 is taking care of……因爲take care of是比較廣義的照顧，一般都用來囑咐說，照顧好自己或是自己的東西
比如:Take good care of your handbag!
care for 1．likebe fond of 喜愛
如: She doesn't care for that colour．她不喜歡那種顏色.
She did not care for him．她不喜歡他.
2． 照顧:
As an orphan，he is cared for by the local authorities．他是個孤兒，受到當地政府的照顧.
He spent years caring for his sick mother．他數年中一直在照顧生病的母親.

My parents cared for my dog.
My parents looked after my dog.
