SP是主表結構句型、SV是主謂結構句型、SVO是主謂賓結構句型、SVIODO是主謂雙賓結構句型、SVOC是主謂賓補結構句型、SVA是主謂狀結構句型、SVOA是主謂賓狀結構句型。
先做説明:s是subject主語，v是verb謂語動詞，p是predictive表語，o是object賓語，io是indirect object間接賓語，do是direct object直接賓語，c是compliment補語，a是adverb狀語。
簡單句五大基本句型SV、SVP、SVO、SVIODO、SVOC。
1、主謂結構S+VI
He arrived in the morning.
China belongs to the third world country.
2、主系表結構S+V+Predictive(主謂補結構SVC，V為系動詞linking v，C為compliment，補充説明S的屬性，狀態，不能拿掉。)
He seems interested in the book.
The teacher became a singer.
3、主謂賓結構S+V+O
We usually play basketball in the morning.
Tom got a promotion from his supervisor(上級)
4、主謂雙賓結構S+V+IO+DO
Chris gave his students a grammar lesson.
Chris brought the stray cat(流浪貓) a lot of food.
5、主謂賓賓補結構S+V+O+C
Everyone thought him an idiot.
I find it difficult to believe.
The whole town wanted the outlaw(不法分子，亡命之徒) dead.
另外兩種SVA和SVOA一般是狀語從句，因為adverb是副詞，狀語從句也可以説是副詞性從句，以下分別舉例：
1、SVA
He stood at the corner.(地點狀語)
2、SVOP
They greeted me in a friendly way.(方式狀語)
